Electronic waste (WEEE) is the fastest growing waste stream in the world
with predictions of more than 100 million tonnes by 2030

In 2020 the total amount of WEEE arising in Europe was reported in Eurostat and through data collection projects initiated by the WEEE Forum as being approximately 9.6 million tonnes, of which 3,5 million tonnes was officially collected through producer take-back schemes and treated in compliance with legislation. Other routes for WEEE were anticipated as being through metal scrap routes, exports for re-use and illegal scavenging etc.
